
Review of EXPO Solar 2009 |
At EXPO Solar 2009, one of the big exhibitions specialized in Solar energy in Asia, 180 companies from 18 countries in the world participated with 350 booths in the area of 7,756sqm. 135 local enterprises and 45 foreign firms participated and in total, 30,213 visitors attended.
Consultation at this exhibition amounted to US$465.9 million for domestic demand and US$190 million for export. The contracted deal amounted to US$45 million for domestic demand and US$25 million for export contract, which in reality and in name has become one of the top international exhibitions specialized in Solar energy.
When exhibitors are broken down by country, 135 companies came from Korea, followed by Japan and the U.S. (3.9%), respectively, Germany and China (3.3%), the U.K. (2.2%), Sweden (2%), others (6.5%).
EXPO Solar has become the hub of Solar energy industry in Asia, in spite of being held for the first time in 2009. Seoul and Chungcheongbuk-Do(Local Government), and other local governments active in Solar energy industry in Korea participated in the PR hall while separate halls were prepared for foreign enterprises, from Japan, Germany, the Netherlands, the U.S., China, Singapore and India.
